I’ve been spending more and more time this year watching the progress being made by Cork Women’s FC – on and off the field.
Enjoying only their second season in existence and as part of the women’s national league, the club’s development has been an important step for women’s football not only in Cork but across the entire country. It’s also been a steep learning curve for everyone involved and they deserve all the support they get, especially now they are playing their home games at Turner’s Cross.
Anyway, here’s a little something I wrote about their game against Peamount at the Cross last month. The latter are a class apart from most of the rest of the league at the moment but the most important thing was that CWFC bounced back and got a 2-2 draw against Shamrock Rovers last weekend. Onwards and upwards!
